Today, PotteryDirect takes you behind the scenes at the Hofland Flowering Plants nursery.
What an inspiring place! Annemiek Hofland and Frank Hofland (center in the photo) are the fifth generation to run this family business, which has been passionately growing flowering plants since 1899.
At Hofland, they grow Schlumbergera—the Christmas cactus—almost year-round, as well as seasonal favorites like Dianthus, Calibrachoa, Argyranthemum, and Checkies. They care for their plants using biological treatments, their own cuttings, and double pinching for a full, uniform growth.
Together with this professional and passionate team, we’re learning how love, craftsmanship, and dedication come together in plants that pair perfectly with our pots.
